Securing your new computer

If your new computer comes with no security features there are many free and very good pieces of software available on the web for you to quickly download. Things to do as soon as you connect your computer to the internet for the first time: -Get a free firewall, try searching "Zone Labs Zone Alarm" in google, that should bring up a free firewall which I personally use -Search google for Avast free download, I've heard that it is a very good free antivirus software -Search google for spybot serach and destroy, or spyware search and destroy, something along those lines and download that...for free of course With those 3 things you are pretty much fairly secure from hackers. I recommend doing a virus scan with avast and spybot s + d once a week. |
